I grew up in a Europe that most of the films come from on single industry...Holywood....we in Europe not only are well able to make good films, but we have a large market to promote them....Funny isn't it...?? The largest market in the world, cannot be dominated by internal "products"...
I also think that Holywood has become a mass propaganda machine..we mostly see films about how great military they have , their lifestyle, their cities, their trends, and their currency shown in every possible opportunity....I mean , start showing the euro in every european film in large quantities and see how people in the world will think that is better to trade in the euro, because the euro is "cool" as the dollar, once "cool" actors are fighting over loads of bags of it in gangster movies...
I think it is time to promote europeaness, and promote Europe in every chance we get....European culture, cities, lifestyle.....Not to dominate the world as the Holywood tries to do, rather to get to know each other, and get that feeling of having something common...European movies in many european languages...We know more about LA, New York and Washington, than we do about Vilnius, Prague, Budapest, Helsinki, Athens, Ljubljana and Valetta....Why...?? We need to start watching what we have, push for our culture to shine, rather turn all of us into "americans"...Nothing against our cousins over the other side of the antlantic, but i think we have seen too much of them and we have no vision of what WE should be...
So how about opening the market for european films...??why not watch films from romania, greece, bulgaria, finland, estonia, hungary, slovakia, italy, france etc more often...?? once there is market, the films will get better and better, and people will have more and more interest in them
