i was wondering about ways that european nations can find and explore alternative sources of energy, and become more energy efficient, independent from oil or gas exporting nations, and more "green"....
but from what i see, nations are encouraged by EU or by their own countries to do so, on a national level only....looking after their issues, problems or exploiting their resources on their own,by themselves....well that does not sound too european oriented at all...
what if two or more nations co-operated, co-financed or co-built a source of alternative energy provider, together, and belonging to both or to the whole of europe....??i mean the south states have the sun,the wind and the waves, the northern states have the waves and the wind, but some states in the middle of the continent have nothing..so how about getting all involved?
example, if greece and czech republic co-financed and co-built air-mills,or solar panels, they both put knowledge, money ,efford and expertise,so eventualy the outcome would be bigger better and both countries would benefit....or if slovakia and ireland invested in wind mills in the same way....and perhaps not just two,but more countries involved....or even better, if all EU nations did that at the same time....?? all countries invested for solar panels in greece, italy and spain, and wave power in ireland, norway, britain and france...??and we all profit and benefit and share this power generated...so we all become independent and energy efficient..?? are we supposed to be in this together anyway? isn't one of the purposes of EU to make european nations cooperate and work together,so we can achieve our goals with the help of each other?
or this is again one of utopia dreams...??
